TheAwayTeam – Star Kinship
This is absolutely an amazing album, it’s a shame that only it’s available on CD and digital.
Mastered by Andrea Merlini (aka Andreas Herz, Kobol Electronics, head of MinimalRome).
TheAwayTeam hails from Rome, Italy; he makes laid-back/ acid tracks as Polysick and video experiments through the AAVV imprint. As Polysick he released an album “Meteo” on Legowelt’s StrangeLifeRecords, a split EP with SFVacid on Swishcotheque (UK) and various rmxs and collaborations (including a track on the “ICASEA Benefit Compilation for Japan” earlier this year). As AAVV he worked on official videos for Stellar Om Source, Com Truise, SLEEP ∞ OVER, CVLTS, Panabrite and others as well as releasing dvds by Luke Wyatt and italian psychedelic duo CADEO.
TheAwayTeam new and highly anticipated album “Star Kinship” will be released Sept 21st on japanese label Moamoo. It’s the third release after “Evacuate Planet Earth” (Bumtapes, Hooker Vision) and “Relax&Sleep” (DVD-EP on Sturmundrugs Records).
The sound inspiration for “Star Kinship” lies somewhere between Steve Roach tribal ambient albums (especially “Strata” with Robert Rich, and the other “aboriginal” influenced stuff), early 90′s chillout electronica (from “A Huge ever growing..” by the Orb to Warp’s Artificial Intelligence series) with a reminiscence of the dark exotica explorations of obscure Umiliani’s library albums like “Polinesia”: it was conceived as background music for an imaginary voyage in a “lost continent” (both in time and space), through desert plains, waterfalls, and deep forests where mysteryous rites are celebrated by uncontacted tribes with a special blood tie with the stars.

Reach the Beach (Flyer)

Out there is the beach meanwhile we believe that the spirit of the sunset has been reincarnated in this Paradise of the Raval.
We will leave The real world aside for a couple or three hours and we will share a journey of musical introspection.
Meanwhile outside of our little paradise of dreams and daydreams, following the revolutionary developments in science we’d like to allow us a mad self-indulgence, a post-natural retreat of epicurean garden: a shopping center of images, symbols, myths and meanings.
Thanks David Barbarosa (Wild Combination) from share this beautiful track with us!
Ocelote Rojo – Pacarina (hand-numbered limited 7″)
There’s something more about the caves and their tenants than just a mathematics perfectly aligned sound logarithm for a massive influx of psychedelic hand made chill wave ambient from Chile.
A heavy dose of dream-pop glitter and plenty of never returned space messages. Sitting on the shelf next to your newly purchased Smile and Radio Cramps releases, you’ll need to clear a small slot for the latest offering from The Ocelote Rojo.

“an album that’s elegiac, achingly beautiful and every bit as stark as the polar landscape that inspired the recording.”
450 km from the arctic circle, ‘The Rustle of the Stars’ is a phenomenon of austere beauty, a barely audible noise that occurs when the draught from human breath causes multiple collisions among the ice micro-crystals in the air.
Some words about this record from Richard & Frederic:
We met on tour when performing in Europe with our respective bands Glissando and FareWell Poetry. We had beautiful times, drinking and talking our common grounds whilst some simple ideas formed in our minds: to compose an album together. To imagine a musical passage through the North Pole explorer diaries. To ask some people and some friends to participate. To record the project in a church. To act quickly.
We began to work at our homes in November 2010, In Paris (FR) and in Leeds (UK), with electric guitars, a bunch of pedals, piano, dulcimer, organ, crystal glasses, bows and field recordings, sending and adding ideas together to the tracks, trying to find a global organic sound.
We met in Leeds two months later at the beginning of 2011 to record in the St Margaret of Antioch Church, using a ‘wall of sound’ process in some of the tracks and arranging / recording the string parts you will hear in the music.
We would like to think of this album as a polar journey to the ends of the earth through the arctic sea. We kept in mind the first polar expeditions, Edgar Allan Poe’s Dream-Land, the ships trapped or crushed by ice, the point of no-return, the minds sinking, the attempt on the Pole ending in disaster, the quest of the Northwest Passage, Erebus & Terror, the Mercy Bay, Mangazeya, Charles Francis Hall, Beechey Island, the Midnight sun and the Polar night.
Mastered by Lawrence English at 158.
THROBBING GRISTLE HEATHEN EARTH: THE LIVE SOUND OF THROBBING GRISTLE – REMASTERED REISSUE
The first real industrial group, the founders of Industrial Records and one of the most important electronic music innovators of all time. Growing out of the extreme performance art group COUM Transmissions, TG redefined music and laid a large part of the groundwork for all electronic music that followed.
From their first performances in 1976 to their last gig in San Francisco in 1981 (recorded and released as “Mission Of Dead Souls”), they challenged and threatend so-called “normal”, society – denounced from the floor.

Hamilton Bohannon – Summertime Groove [Let's Start The Dance (12")]

Funk Master, Hamilton designed many dance bombs in the mid-late 1970s he had a sort of legacy from the African American musicians blended soul music He was side man of Stevie Wonder and later responsible for live arrangements for all Motown’s top acts.
This long length extended groove emphasizes melody and harmony and brings a strong rhythmic section of electric bass and drums to the foreground, chord progressions makes a worm redundancy, distinguishing it from R&B and soul songs making this song a hot and sexy tune under a Balearic set.
